5 Unique Ideas for Your Next Office Holiday Party

This year, office holiday parties are back on! If you want this year’s party to sparkle, try one of these unique party ideas to show your team a job well done at the end of the year:

1. Team Building: An Escape Room or Scavenger Hunt

Consider turning your holiday party into a team-building opportunity with a twist. An escape room or scavenger hunt gives your team an opportunity to break the ice while working on solving a unique problem. Either visit a local escape room or turn the office into a puzzle! Through these kinds of activities, you’ll encourage groups to work together and think outside the box to either escape or to find hidden items.

Customize Your Party Gifts

Whether you host an escape room or a scavenger hunt, you could create boxes with puzzles or clues that each group will need to figure out. It’s possible to create your own custom boxes with special decorations or messages on the outside.

2. A Company Cooking or Cocktail Class

Put together ingredients and tools to have everyone come together and make a meal, bake a dessert, or create a cocktail. You have the option to host the class yourself or to hire a professional to teach it. This activity brings people together through teams that can cook together, plus it helps everyone feel accomplished at learning something new and enjoying the fruits of their labor.

Design Themed Favors for Guests

Think about sending everyone home with a company wine or snack sampler in a custom gift box. We allow you to decorate the packaging however you’d like. One option is to design custom seasonal packaging, which can include messages, graphics, and images.

3. A Themed Trivia Night

Consider hosting a trivia night to bring together colleagues and help them have fun together. This idea is great in person, yet it also gives you an option, if you need, to host a virtual get-together. Trivia offers a fun challenge and provides team building by having groups compete against one another. Come up with a theme for trivia night, either related to the holidays or your team’s hobbies and interests!

Create Special Prizes

The winners of trivia night can receive a gift that you wrap in a custom box made just for the party. We allow you to design the box however you'd like.

4. An Ugly Sweater or Costume Party

It’s extra fun for everyone to change out of their normal office wear and don something more exciting, whether it’s an ugly Christmas sweater or a costume. You decide on the theme and give everyone some direction on what to wear. A twist on this type of party is to set up a DIY craft station and have everyone decorate a sweater or costume right there at the party.

Give Away Custom Prizes

Make it a competition to encourage people to really get into the spirit of the theme! Have everyone vote for the favorites, and give out prizes to the winners!

5. Game Night

Bring everyone together around fun games, which could include board games and video games. It makes it more fun if you include a variety of games, so people can try different ones or choose their favorites. You could include nostalgic games that people likely played in their childhood, modern games, and mini-sports competitions like tabletop air hockey or a tournament on a mini basketball hoop. Most likely, people have board games and video game consoles they could lend for the night to give the party options without you needing to purchase the games.

Design Your Own Prize Packaging

You could also send everyone, or the winners of tournaments, home with a game packaged in a custom box. If you’re feeling creative, it could even be a custom game!

We hope these holiday party ideas give you some good inspiration to host a fun and team-building event this year. Also, we hope you have fun creating custom gift boxes for your guests, whether you give them as a favor for everyone or you save them for the winners of your party activities. These boxes will add some extra flair that adds to the party spirit.
